Over many years as a professional archaeologist I have built up close contact with the emerging projects of Community Based Tourism. On the basis of my experience in excavations, preservation, logistics, excursions and travel organisation, combined with my qualification as a communication trainer, I have developed the concept of f.i.t.s. training.
This provides me with the potential to link my professional experience with a special knowledge of regional tourism and my passion for the people of the area. Addressing and mitigating the deficits of the development of tourism, is beneficial for the people in the area. The success and feedback of the training workshops, which I have provided, indicate that my work in this sphere is not only appreciated but it provides support, motivation and empowerment. I am convinced that my training can successfully fill a large gap in the development of Community Based Tourism.
